Privacy policy
This policy explains what Battle Of World (battleofworld.com) collects when you play, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Your account: the ruler name you choose, your password and, only if you give it, your email address. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; we cannot read it.
- Your game: your progress is saved in your own browser on your device. Your score, ruler name and alliance appear on the public leaderboard.
- Server logs: like most websites, our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time) for security and to fix problems. They are kept for a short time only.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, for up to 14 days. Your game saves live in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics.
Other companies
Our site loads its lettering from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which sees your IP address; see Google's privacy policy. Our server is run on a hosting provider's machines. We do not sell or share your information with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it. Sign-in sessions end after 14 days. The public leaderboard shows the current era only.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account. Clearing your browser's site data removes the game saves on that device.
Children
Battle Of World is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
